 S kye has helped me in many ways. She has taught me how to look at the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives of my past. She has helped me learn to accept myself and who I am and to give myself a break sometimes. She has taught me the importance of being nice to oneself and forgiving oneself for things that may or may not have happened in the past. Skye is someone I look up to and I thank for my achievements. Without her expert knowledge and help, I do not know where I would be today.

 H  ere is a bit about my daughter, who is 11 years old. She has several developmental disorders, has difficulty speaking about her feelings to me, and her father and I divorced several years ago, which she is now starting to understand and accept. That is quite a bit for a 10 year old, when she started to see Skye. The difference in my daughter is unbelieveable. She started to open up to me and talk about her feelings, she has learned to control her anger, and overcome many other obstacles she has had. I cannot say enough about Skye. My daughter actually smiles now! Skye has changed our lives. My daughter always has new challenges she needs to overcome, but I don’t worry anymore… Skye will help her.

M y mom and dad divorced when I was little. I only get to see my father when it’s summer vacation because he lives in New York. When I moved to Florida, my mom got me a great ‘talking doctor’ so I can talk to her about my feelings. She’s very nice and one time when we were talking about that whole ‘me living in Florida and not seeing my dad that often’ thing, well you won’t believe this but Skye understood my feelings cause the same thing happened to her too! And sometimes Skye brings her dog Asher with her (his breed is a toy poodle). I have so much fun there cause if we have enough time, Skye lets me draw, play with the large doll house, or play with Asher her small dog.

 I  brought my 7th grade daughter to Skye on the recommendation of a friend. My daughter had been seeing a different therapist for nearly 2 years and was not making progress anymore. I thought she would benefit from someone younger and female.

From the first appointment I noticed a difference in the way my daughter behaved as she left the office. Instead of a shrug of the shoulder and little conversation, she would share what activities Skye had presented and how she felt about them. Skye drew her out with exercises and activities that didn’t put all the pressure on what to talk about and what she wanted to say.

Skye is more than willing to meet with me if I have a concern about my daughter. I can call, email or come in to her office. We are very comfortable with her and her office, my daughter especially looks forward to visiting with Skye’s poodle-he always soothes her and comforts her.

I have found that my daughter made a great deal of noticeable progress seeing Skye every week. Skye tries her best to accommodate our schedule and my daughter always leaves with a smile. I would whole-heartedly recommend Skye Stern to any family. We have had a completely positive experience, and only leave her practice because we moved out of the area.
